What's going on??

An all powerful Sussex Mayor like London?
An all powerful Sussex Mayor like London?

A lot as it happens, and that may affect you so please read on. Don't think you have a voice even if it does? No one asks for your opinion anyway?

Well that's what your Forum (HDOPF) is for. To let you know what is happening that may, or will affect you. Your Forum is listening to and giving local older people a voice.

Right, so whats's happening?

As for asking for your opinion, then read on as Healthwatch in Sussex want to ask you 6 questions on your experience of vaccinations and the government wants to know your views on the merging of our local Sussex County Councils and an elected Mayor.

What has been your experience of vaccinations? Have you been affected by a Covid vaccination?

Healthwatch in Sussex would like to hear about your experiences of vaccinations in a short six-question poll. They'd like to hear about experiences of adult vaccinations during the last 12 months, from people who've been vaccinated and anyone who hasn't.

Help them understand how they are for you, and any barriers or concerns you have. Please share any personal experiences, or those of a family member or someone else you know.

The poll closes on Monday 31st March 2025

Devolution - the proposed merger of our 3 County Councils in Sussex and having an elected Mayor.

What is your view on the proposed merging of our West Sussex County Council?

The government has approved a joint bid between West Sussex County Council, East Sussex County Council, and Brighton & Hove City Council to be a priority for devolution (merging).

It means that Sussex as a whole will also have an elected Mayor (as in London

and other combined authorities such as Greater Manchester), to lead on big issues such as transport, public safety, health, housing, the economy and the environment.

Now is your chance to have your say on the plans for a Mayoral Combined Authority for Sussex and Brighton.
